Jesus fixed a man’s eyes with dirt and spit at no charge (John 9:6). Jesus Is God and Cincinnati Eye Institute is not. CEI’s procedure was just a few minutes longer and a lot more complex and considerably more expensive, but they are doing the Lord’s work. The sky is brighter and bluer now. Blue skies are one of my favorite things. In an earlier time I shared God’s majestic view of this smoldering planet from high in those blessed blue skies–his nearness was palpable. The heavens declare God’s glory, whatever the altitude of the observer, whether the star-studded dark of the night or the dazzling blue of the day. “Day to day pours out speech and night to night reveals knowledge.” Their testimony is sure, making wise the simple (Psalm 19): The Son of God became man, that men might become the sons of God (C.S. Lewis).

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

Congratulations on what I presume was cataract surgery. Bill and I did it last fall and were so pleased, except for seeing more wrinkles and gray hair! The lines from Psalm 19 are among my favorites, often prayed in morning prayer. Blessings, Pam
